Why my MacBook is not charging the new battery?

Hi everyone, thanks in advance for anyone that helped. So I have MacBook Pro 2010 13" and I have replaced the battery with a new one, I bought a new adapter 60W (previously was 85W), and I just replace the DC-in board but it is still not charging the battery. So it is still showing "Battery Is Not Charging - Power Source: Power Adapter".

Is this mean there is an issue with the main board? Any advice or any info would be much appreciated.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hello there! I dealt with the same issue before: here's what to do.

  • First, download an app called Coconut Battery, and then upload screenshots of the app here.
    • You will need to download an older version for your version of macOS.
  • Next, disconnect the battery and the power adapter. While holding the power button plug in the battery and then the power adapter.
    • This will activate SMC bypass. The Mac fan will spin loudly, but it should boot normally. When you see the grey screen, disconnect the power adapter. Does it stay on? If so, let me know.

Start here, and let me know what you find, and we'll go from there!
